Business Innovator 2026: Who does this award belong to?

The German Innovation Institute has named TATIN Institute GmbH a “Business Innovator”. Our first words are thank you: to all our clients who are taking new paths in strategy execution with us.

In short

On 5 November 2026, the German Innovation Institute for Sustainability and Digitalisation (diind) named TATIN Institute GmbH a “Business Innovator”, with 94 out of 100 points in its two-stage assessment. The award recognises an approach that moves strategy execution into the everyday work of teams. It was made possible by clients who trusted us long before there was a seal for it.

Who do we thank first?

No one takes a new path alone. Every method described in an assessment report was once tried for the first time in a real team. In a regular meeting, with people who already had plenty on their plate. And with leaders who were willing to test something for which there was no benchmark yet.

To us, that trust is the real innovation. This award therefore belongs first to the organisations that have learned with us, from Allianz, Bosch, DATEV and E.ON to Infineon, Siemens and Swiss Re, Caritas, EAM and NORD/LB. It belongs to the teams within them who shared their view week after week, agreed on actions and followed through. And it belongs to our own team.

What was TATIN recognised for as a Business Innovator?

The assessment report highlights our focus on the “last mile”: the path from an agreed strategy into the daily work of teams. It points to methods we developed ourselves, such as SPARKs and the BIG PICTURE method, to technology that serves behavioural change, and to an unusually dense body of evidence on impact for a consultancy.

As external evidence of impact, the report cites the recognition of our work with E.ON Italia in the Stanford Social Innovation Review in 2025. The results there were achieved by E.ON Italia. We were privileged to accompany them.

What do clients gain from this award?

A seal does not change a team routine. But it can help with a decision that often weighs more than the choice of method: who do you trust with the execution of your strategy? For executive boards, transformation leads and procurement, the assessment offers three reference points.

  1. An outside view. The diind assessed innovation claims, use of technology, impact, culture and market position against a fixed model. This adds an external perspective to our own account.
  2. Impact you can track. In the category “Measurable innovation success”, TATIN scored 19 out of 20 points. For clients, this means seeing during the project whether behaviour is changing, not only in the final report.
  3. An approach that stays. The award recognises a transferable model that leaders and teams carry themselves. SPARKs keep working after our support ends, from a pilot with ten teams to the entire organisation.

What changes now?

Little in our work, and that is how it should be. The report also names where we still have room to grow, for example visibility beyond our professional audience. We take that as a brief. What matters most stays the same: around 20 minutes in an existing meeting, one concrete action with clear ownership, and at the next SPARK the question of whether it worked.

“Every initiative has to win a majority within the organisation, and that majority is built in the teams. This award is a thank you to our team and to the companies taking new paths in execution with us.”Robert Wreschniok, CEO TATIN Institute for Strategy Activation

How it was assessed

In a two-stage process, the diind evaluates five dimensions: digital presence and innovation communication, innovation strategy and use of technology, measurable innovation success, innovation culture and employee development, and market positioning and ecosystem. The assessment is based on publicly available sources. The impact figures cited in the report come from our own client projects and are not an independent benchmark.
